MAGA Closes the Election Infrastructure Gap in 2024 Electoral Victory
Grassroots-driven outreach efforts led by people like Scott Presler and Cliff Maloney were a key factor in securing President Trump’s historic victory.
For years, the radical left developed a massive infrastructure to drive Democrat electoral success across the country. This allowed them to dominate elections regardless of their unpopular stances as they controlled the machinery behind politics that few understand.
The radical left had a network of nonprofits, PACs, LLCs, and other organizations that nominally worked independent of each other but acted as tentacles of a very sophisticated Hydra. This Hydra was able to put a stranglehold on elections while Republicans were sleeping. Republicans only started to wake up after radical changes in the country began to reveal themselves.
Until 2024, the conservative right was still operating election operations as if it were the 1980s. They largely rejected ballot harvesting, and their focus on chasing absentee votes was subpar at best. As Democrats worked their lawfare to perfection and changed the notion of voting day to voting season, they made the most of the new rules while Republicans stagnated and regularly ceded ground across the country.
This all changed, more quickly than most could have anticipated, during the 2024 election. Many deserve the credit, but it must start at the top with Elon Musk. After acquiring Twitter and restoring free speech on the platform, Musk’s millions of dollars provided the life blood needed to stoke grassroots momentum in battleground states across the country through his America PAC and other operations. The left has thousands of activists on payroll to permanently campaign, and now the right has the same thing because of Musk’s patriotism, generosity and competence. He proudly proclaims himself as the George Soros of the right.
Turning Point Action (TPA) learned the correct lessons after the failed 2022 midterms where MAGA focused on election day voting only to see widespread hardware problems cause long lines in a suspected disenfranchisement scheme by corrupt election officials. TPA created their “Chase the Vote” program, working with state Republican leaders around the country to make sure they were constantly contacting potential voters. They also influenced the highly successful Trump Force 47 program that took TPA’s blueprint and implemented it through the RNC.
The state of Pennsylvania saw activist leaders like Scott Presler and Cliff Maloney work tirelessly to register voters through their organizations, conducting outreach to groups like the Amish and leave no vote on the table. The state of Michigan saw unprecedented outreach efforts to the Muslim community, resulting in extremely influential Muslim mayors endorsing Trump, and then an exodus from the Democrat Party in Muslim enclaves like Dearborn. Both states were ultimately delivered to Trump despite a huge spending advantage by the Harris campaign.
Grassroots-driven outreach efforts were a key factor in securing President Trump’s historic victory. Ignoring certain demographics or trying to weaken the Republican message to appeal to these demographics is a failed strategy. Making a bold, uncompromising case that the MAGA agenda will provide a better life for families trying to achieve their dreams in America is how the Republican Party must win voters to substantially change the country, and this was clearly demonstrated in 2024.
The MAGA movement also ignored its most toxic voices, like the despicable Emerald Robinson, who thought that whining about the impediments to victory would be a preferable option to overcoming them. MAGA is a movement that, like its leader President Trump, overcomes every obstacle standing in its way and achieves the impossible. This is a movement that does not succumb to excessive paranoia or dooming. While acknowledging perilous circumstances facing our country, we must react with a spirit of joy as we bear the cross for freedom. The MAGA movement stayed optimistic in the spirit of its leader, achieved a historic victory in 2024, and the naysayers were proven decisively wrong.
The new Republican establishment is the MAGA movement. The interests who won for Trump in 2024 are now steering the ship. The true test will be in 2026 when Trump is not on the ballot. Trump is the rising tide that leads Republicans to victory. The Republican brand itself is tarnished and deservedly so. Trump extended a lifeline to the failing, dying GOP. Can the Republican Party invent itself enough and make Trump voters enthusiastic about supporting them even when Trump is not at the top of the ticket? The entrenched elites who would have preferred Trump lose will not make it easy, but this will be the next major test for MAGA’s political ascendancy.
With Trump as the steadfast captain, Musk as the string puller, TPA leading the grassroots, and hundreds of leaders like Presler and Maloney on the ground ensuring voters are reached, there is an undeniable potential for MAGA to be a lasting movement beyond Trump to reshape politics for generations to come. Tulsi Gabbard, Matt Gaetz, Vivek Ramaswamy and of course J.D. Vance have emerged as leaders who appeal to independent-minded voters in a way traditional Republicans cannot. MAGA is evolving rapidly, and the left is terrified at the potential consequences. They ought to be.
