Military-Backed Election Fraud in Honduras Shows Need for Trump to Take Action

It is not unreasonable to request for the U.S. step in and make it less likely for the socialist regime to steal elections and subjugate the people of Honduras.

Recently, the leftist clickbait mill Gizmodo profiled me in an article, claiming that I was calling for “regime change in Honduras to support a techno-colonist crypto city,” referring to Próspera in Honduras.

The Gizmodo article, in typical leftist fashion, misrepresented my positions, inferring that I called for military intervention into Honduran politics while demonizing free enterprise and capitalism with falsehoods.

They bashed Próspera as well as intrepid leaders Javier Milei of Argentina and Nayib Bukele of El Salvador, obviously hoping that the plague of Maduroism infects the whole of Latin America.

The hysterical Left is attacking me because I strongly believe that former President Juan Orlando Hernández was fraudulently framed for drug-trafficking, in the same fashion that false charges were brought against President Donald Trump.

I have also strongly urged President Trump to declassify all documents regarding the arrest and prosecution of President Juan Orlando Hernández, to expose the truth.

This demand for accountability makes the communists in Honduras apoplectic.

Ivory tower liberals are always content to let people in third-world countries suffer to further their noble experiments. They cheer on despotic rulers like Honduran President Xiomara Castro as they attack business investment while bleating mindless slogans like ‘power to the people’ but are conspicuously silent as corruption and destitution skyrockets.

The recent Honduran elections give a window into the moral bankruptcy of current national leadership.

During the Honduran national primary elections on Mar. 9, the Associated Press reported that polling centers were forcibly closed on election day because they conveniently “lacked electoral materials.”

According to a report from El Heraldo, only 10 of 152 voting centers received the electoral material they needed to conduct the vote by election day in the well-populated industrial center of San Pedro Sula.

The fraud was too widespread for the fake news media to cover up.

Mainstream news reports in Honduras implicated officials with the ruling LIBRE Party for arriving at polling locations with suitcases full of illegal ballots that were already filled out.

The AP admitted that voter disenfranchisement was occurring on a wide scale during the Honduran primary election, interviewing angry voters dismayed by the humiliating process.

“We see that it is clear that our rights are being violated, and we ask the Armed Forces to take responsibility, because this is a mockery,” said Sandra López, a 54-year-old attorney whose voting center was shuttered.

“I think that this leaves a lot to be desired on the part of the National Electoral Council, and people are already starting to doubt that the elections will be transparent,” said Vizmar Zepeda, an unemployed 29-year-old journalist.

Cossette López, president of the National Electoral Council, said it was the military – led by Defense Minister Rixi Moncada – who was responsible for polling locations being inadequately prepared on election day.

“Honduran people, no one can or should conspire against our right to vote. No one should succeed in those intentions. Just as we have won small battles, so we will win this battle against those who have acted against our right to vote,” she said.

“We demand that ALL those involved in these anomalies be held accountable. This cannot happen again. We Hondurans are a great people who have been taught civics and have shown that we will defend our democracy,” said Honduran Council of Private Enterprise (COHEP) President Anabel Gallardo in an X post.

Moncada is not only the Defense Minister tasked with overseeing Honduran elections but also is Xiomara Castro’s heir apparent for the LIBRE Party to be the country’s next President…

She won her Party’s nomination unopposed to appear in the November general election where she will face Liberal Party candidate Salvador Nasralla of the Liberal Party and Papi a la Orden of the National Party in a three-way race to determine who will be the next Honduran national leader.

The Honduran public is rightly outraged at the botching of the vote.

In the best-case scenario, this is a case of mind-boggling incompetence – the type of incompetence that should easily disqualify the elected official overseeing the vote from serving as President.

Unfortunately, the more probable state of affairs with the primary election fraud is priming the public for anomalies and irregularities that will be used to steal the vote in November.

The LIBRE Party is very closely tied to Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro and has no qualms about importing his dictatorial tactics to cling to power.

The city of Próspera and other cities enacted under the visionary Zones for Employment and Economic Development (ZEDEs) law give the people a chance at escaping the problems endemic to a Honduran political climate where coups and arrests of opposition officials are not uncommon occurrences.

Próspera gives hope to Hondurans that they can escape the cycle of poverty enabled by government instability.

The blueprint enacted by Próspera of property rights, limited taxation and innovation-friendly business regulation has created prosperity everywhere it has been tried and will transform Latin America as well if tinpot dictatorships do not get in the way.

This is not done by advocating for military intervention, but rather through a pardon of former President Juan Orlando Hernandez (JOH).

Tried in a kangaroo court, JOH was framed for being a drug criminal by the very men who he helped put behind bars, some of whom walk free today despite committing brutal murders and trafficking tons of cocaine to the U.S.

JOH’s return to Honduras would be an undeniable signal that the LIBRE Party’s socialist mandate for national reform was illusory.

It would be a death blow to a regime that teeters on the brink of extinction after years of failed promises and thuggish behavior, undoing a grave error and causing many delicious leftist tears in the process.

A Trump pardon of JOH allows Honduras to avert the hellish paths taken by countries like Venezuela and Cuba while giving free cities like Próspera room to breathe.

A better way of life for the Honduran people awaits, and the U.S. ought to play a role in this honorable endeavor.
