‘Shen Yun’ Must Be Protected to Make China Great Again

Shen Yun, whose tagline is “China Before Communism,” offers a tantalizing display of pageantry that cuts at the heart of the CCP’s stranglehold on the thought process of the Chinese people.

Although President Trump’s tariffs and tough trade policy regarding China are working wonders to derail the CCP’s rise as the top world power, the only way that the ruthless communist regime in the Far East will be truly defeated is by changing the hearts and minds of the people, and no entity is more successful on that front than Shen Yun.

Shen Yun, a global sensation whose tagline is “China Before Communism,” offers a tantalizing display of song, dance, art and pageantry that cuts at the heart of the CCP’s stranglehold on the thought process of the Chinese people. The performing arts group has grown exponentially since its debut in 2006, selling out packed auditoriums the world over and raising awareness of Chinese culture that has been brutally suppressed by the CCP.

Communism is a political system that crushes the beauty of the soul. If communists allow human expression to flourish, individuals will quickly transcend the bounds of their absurd and envy-driven leftist ideology. This is why all communist regimes must stifle the creative impulses of the people so individuals are robbed of their humanity and subjugated into vacuous automatons who live only to serve the autocratic government.

Shen Yun shows the Chinese people can be far more than the system that is currently being imposed upon them. They show what China used to be before the CCP gained its stranglehold over public and private life. China had a beautiful culture where a proud people venerated their traditions, their native religions and their people ahead of the state – as it should be. The CCP understands the wonderfully subversive effect of Shen Yun and recognizes them as a major threat to their power. This is why they have initiated a worldwide crackdown on Shen Yun and the religious movement that inspired them.

An important webinar took place on March 7, hosted by the Committee on the Present Danger: China, about the totality of the CCP’s effort to thwart Shen Yun. The webinar included Chinese religious dissidents, foreign policy analysts, news reporters, anti-CCP whistleblowers and former state department officials to blow the lid off the CCP’s plan to destroy Shen Yun.

“The lawfare…is essentially weaponizing our own institutions, ironically, the institutions that really sort of support and galvanize our democracy against Americans [and] residents in America to achieve the aims of Beijing,” said Levi Browde, who serves as the Executive Director of the Falun Dafa Information Center, describing how the CCP spies and agents regularly resort to lawfare to destroy their enemies.

"Often, China persecutes in its own country, and that's abhorrent… But they've had the audacity now, and it is incredibly audacious for them to do what they are attempting to do right now with who is in the White House... They are trying to splash their religious persecution on the Shen Yun troupe while they're in the United States. So they're actually bringing their religious persecution from China to right here on our shores," said Pam Pryor, former Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations.

"Everyone should know about the United Front Work Department, which is [the CCP's] vehicle for political warfare and perception management and deception. They have been working on compromising the U.S. media for a very long time," said Dr. John Lenczowski, PhD, Former Senior Director for Europe and Soviet Affairs on the Reagan National Security Council, adding that the New York Times and Washington Post have taken “millions of dollars” to publish CCP state propaganda and pass it off like it was unbiased news.

The war on Shen Yun is a priority of Chinese lifetime President Xi Jinping, who has reportedly ordered the anti-Shen Yun campaign from the top, which has even included death and bombing threats at its most extreme. Under the direction of Xi, the CCP’s United Front Work Department has allegedly compromised several former Shen Yun performers and compelled them to turn against the troupe and spread falsehoods in the New York Times. This has created an impetus for lawfare that the Biden Administration was more than happy to support as a measure of fealty to their Chinese backers.

The demonization of Shen Yun is not unlike what President Trump had to undergo for years with the media and government, with their foreign backers conspiring under cover of darkness to thwart his righteous agenda. The plot against Trump failed, and the plot against Shen Yun will fail too. Bringing Shen Yun to the White House for a presentation would be a clever way for America to thumb her nose at CCP repression, while making it abundantly clear that Shen Yun is a cultural staple that will never be snuffed out by a jealous regime. Shen Yun must always serve as inspiration for the Chinese people to make their country great again.
